Red Wasp Film Festival: Oct. 21 & 22

by Red Wasp on October 20, 2011

The Red Wasp Film Festival is happening this Friday and Saturday, October 21 & 22, at StageCenter. Please join Brazos Progressives as we showcase independent film. We’ve got a great line-up of films both nights. For a schedule of films, visit:

We’ll be closing the festival Saturday night this year with a special screening of Destino (7:00), a short animated Disney-produced film by Salvador Dali. After Destino, we’ll show Dali and Disney: A Date with Destino (83:00), a documentary about the artists, their relationship, and an in-depth conversation about the making of Destino. Please join us for this special screening on Saturday after the Red Wasp Film Festival awards ceremony.

Thanks, too, to all of our sponsors!

Finally, there will be food trucks downtown both evenings (in the Democratic Party headquarters parking lot) just before Red Wasp, so you can grab some food and then make your way over to StageCenter! The weather is supposed to be nice, so plan on spending the evening downtown before the festival! Here are the food truck details:

Friday, October 21, 5-7 pm @ Anderson-Schaefer Building, 307 S. Main St. at corner of 28th St (MAP):
- Chef Tai Mobile Gourmet
- Madden’s Street Cuisine
- Cake Junkie
- Stover Bros Cafe & Village Foods

Saturday, October 22, 5-7 pm @ Anderson-Schaefer Building, 307 S. Main St. at corner of 28th St (MAP):
- Chef Tai Mobile Gourmet
- Madden’s Street Cuisine
- Stover Bros Cafe & Village Foods

Many thanks to Zane Anderson for allowing the trucks to set up in the parking lot free of charge.

The entire festival really is a community effort. Lots of volunteers have been working hard to make this happen. Please join us!
